Text and Context
Robinson Crusoe is a novel by Daniel Defoe. First published on 25 April 1719.
Robinson- a man castaway who spends 28 years on a remote tropical desert island near Trinidad, encountering cannibals, captives, and mutineers, before ultimately being rescued.
I'm really interested in the story, so I want to create a story based on Robinson Crusoe.
Inspiration
The film " Castaway on the moon" is a 2009 South Korean romantic comedy film.
It seems to be a modern time Robinson Crusoe.
The story talks about Kim, is a loser in his normal life. He tried to suicide by jumping from the city bridge. But he wakes up in the middle island of the city, he searches the island, there is no anyone, the island also is too far to city.
He starts to accept the reality, he learns to survive on the island, his cries for help scrawled in the sand are seen by a girl...
In the film, the most interesting part is he uses what he learned before and tried to survive on the island.
It's very similar to the film "Cast Away" of Tom Hanks.
I found an animation " The Swiss family Robinson: Flone of the Mysterious Island" by Nippon Animation.
The story is talking about a family during the way they went to Australia, their boat meet terrifying. They were the only survivors on the boat, then they found an island not far from the sea, so they move to the island, starting a new life, start everything from zero. They search food and built a wood house, waiting for someone save them. During they learn the survival skills, I think they are really useful for my work.
I also found a documentary about wilderness survival.
Naked Castaway Ed Staford is a television series documentary by discovery channel.
On March 11, 2013. Explorer Ed Stanford struggles to establish himself on a remote uninhabited Fijian Island.
Arriving with nothing, he has to quickly establish his priorities of water, shelter, food, and fire, to have any chance of surviving his 60 days challenge.
Ed mainly drinks coconuts. he stars to search the island for the reliable water source and food, eating anything that comes his way.
On March 21, 2013. With the rainy season approaching, he desperately needs to move out of his exposed caveman home and build a shelter in the land.
He started cutting down trees to build a house. The roof was woven from palm leaves.

I found some mobile games about the survival in the island. In the games and the documentary, they all mentioned: water, food, fire, shelter. They are the basic needs.
In the game, you need to cut trees, collect wood, stones, and ropes to make tools. Collect branches to take fire. In the absence of fresh water, coconut milk can be used instead. Fish and crabs for hunger.
Rick and Morty is American adult animated science fiction comedy series.
Those fantastic extraterrestrial scenes and the exciting fights all caught my heart.
I'm interested in the outer planet, the universe. In the search, I found a comic magazine named Space Family Robinson, the story of a family on the return journey to the earth tried to survival and exploration in the outer planet.
my version
I would like to recreate a new version of Robinson Crusoe. In my version, Robinson dream to become an astronaut to explore the space.
One day, Robinson got a chance to be a volunteer to explore a new planet. He went back home to tell his parents, but they have disagreed with that. But on the second day, he chose to follow his own desition. During the journey of the spacecraft, a rapidly falling meteorite crashed into the spacecraft, but himself with the uncontrolled spacecraft crashed into a wormhole into a planet in another space.
When he woke up, he found himself in a completely unfamiliar environment and there was no anyone around this place.
He lost contact with the entire world. He found that the planet is very similar to the earth, he could breathe normally, also many weird fruits, vegetables.
He has been waiting for the government save, but there has never been any news. In the end, Robinson gave up waiting until die, he started the survival and adventure on the planet...
Character design
I divided the entire story into seven chapters. Each chapter had a different theme, from Robinson flew from Earth to space, and then encountered the meteorite. From waiting for help, to giving up waiting, accepting reality. From exploring the jungle to finding water. From the tent was burned to move to the cave and was later attacked by wolves. From building tree houses to completing new homes. From adapting to a new life to becoming an island master...
